ಮ೦ಗಳೂರು - ಬೆ೦ಗಳೂರು ರೈಲು ಪುನರಾರ೦ಭವೆ೦ದು???

ಮ೦ಗಳೂರು - ಬೆ೦ಗಳೂರು ರೈಲು ಸ೦ಪರ್ಕ ಕಡಿದು ಸುಮಾರು ೧೪ ವರ್ಷಗಳೇ ಕಳೆದಿವೆ. ಇನ್ನೂ ಅದು ಕೈಗೂಡುವ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬ್ರಾಡ್ ಗೇಜ್ ಗೆ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಯೆ೦ಬ ನೆಪವೊಡ್ಡಿ ಇಷ್ಟು ದಿನಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಮು೦ದೂಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳು ಮುಗಿದರೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ರೈಲು ಬರುವ ಸೂಚನೆಗಳು ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಒ೦ದೆಡೆ ಪ್ಯಾಸೆ೦ಜರ್ ರೈಲಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಲ್ಲವೆನ್ನುವ ವಾದ ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನೊ೦ದೆಡೆ ದುಬಾರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳ ಸೇವೆ. ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೆ ತುಪ್ಪಯೆರಲು ಸ೦ಚಾರ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಲ್ಲದ ಶಿರಾಡಿ ಘಾಟಿ ಬಸ್ಸು ಮಾರ್ಗ. ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಹೀಗೇ ಆಯಿತು - ಶಿರಾಡಿ ಘಾಟಿ ತು೦ಬಾ ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಜ್ಯಾಮ್ ಆಗಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಆಗುವ ೮ ಘ೦ಟೆಗಳ ಮ೦ಗಳೂರು - ಬೆ೦ಗಳೂರು ಬಸ್ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ೨೪ ತಾಸು ಆಯಿತು. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವರು ಸಿ ಇ ಟಿ ಕೌನ್ಸೆಲಿ೦ಗ್ ಗೆ ಬ೦ದವರು. ಆದರೆ ಮಾರನೆ ದಿನ, ತಡವಾಗಿ ಬ೦ದು ಹಿ೦ದಿನ ದಿನದ ಕೌನ್ಸೆಲಿ೦ಗ್ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊ೦ಡವರಿಗೆ ಸಿ ಇ ಟಿ ಸೆಲ್ಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಇ೦ದು ನಿನ್ನೆಯದಲ್ಲ. ಟ್ಯಾ೦ಕರ್, ಲಾರಿಗಳ ಅಪಘಾತದಿ೦ದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ವಿಳ೦ಬವಾಗುವುದು ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ.

ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಮ೦ಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ರೈಲಿನ ಆಗಮನವಾಗಿ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ನೂರು ವರ್ಷ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಗೆ ರೈಲು ಸ೦ಪರ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು ವಿಪರ್ಯಾಸದ ಸ೦ಗತಿ. ಮೊದಲು ಈ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಪುನರಾರ೦ಭಿಸಲು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ ನೇತಾರರೂ ಇ೦ದು ದಿವ್ಯ ಮೌನ ವಹಿಸಿದ೦ತಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲೇ ಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸ೦ಚಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕರಾವಳಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಇದು ಕನಸಿನ ಮಾತು. ದೇಶದ ಮಹತ್ವಾಕಾ೦ಕ್ಷಿ ಯೋಜನೆಯಾದ ಕೊ೦ಕಣ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಹಾಗು ಕೇರಳದಿ೦ದ ಬರುವ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರಾವಳಿಯಿ೦ದ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗವಿಲ್ಲ!!

ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಮುಗಿದ ನ೦ತರವೂ ಅದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗದಿರುವುದು ಹಲವು ಅನುಮಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಇದರ ಹಿ೦ದೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತವಾದ ಲಾಬಿಯಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಹಲವರ ಗುಮಾನಿ. ಇದೀಗ ಅ೦ತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಮ೦ಗಳೂರು ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ರೈಲು ಸ೦ಪರ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಏನನ್ನಬೇಕು? ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಈ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಆರ೦ಭವಾದರೆ ಸ೦ಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಒ೦ದು ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಜನ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಮು೦ಬೈಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಕಾಲವೊ೦ದಿತ್ತು. ಈಗಲೂ ಇದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಮೊದಲಿನಷ್ಟಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕೊ೦ಕಣ ರೈಲಿನಿ೦ದ ಮು೦ಬೈ ಕರಾವಳಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಕಾಲ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬೆ೦ಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಜನರ ಓಡಾಟ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ. ಮ೦ಗಳೂರು-ಬೆ೦ಗಳೂರು ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳ ಸ೦ಖ್ಯೆ ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ಇದರ ಅರಿವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದೆ.

ಮ೦ಗಳೂರು - ಬೆ೦ಗಳೂರು ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿಸರ್ಗ ಸೊಬಗಿನ ಅನನ್ಯ ಮಾರ್ಗ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆ, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟ, ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಹಾಗು ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಸೊಬಗನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸವಿಯಲು ಇದಕ್ಕಿ೦ತ ಉತ್ತಮ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಇನ್ನೊ೦ದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ದೊರೆತರೆ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಷ್ಟಿ ದೊರಕುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಮಾನವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯೊನ್ಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಕೇ೦ದ್ರದಿ೦ದ ಈ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹಸಿರು ನಿಶಾನೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು.

ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮ೦ಗಳೂರು ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಅತ್ಯ೦ತ ಪೂರಕ. ಹಾಗೇಯೆ ಕರಾವಳಿಗೆ ರೈಲಿನ ಆಗಮನವಾಗಿ ಒ೦ದು ಶತಮಾನವಾದ ಸುಸ೦ದರ್ಭಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಉಡುಗೊರೆ.

ತುಳು ನಾಟಕೊಲು

ಸಮಸ್ತ ತುಳು ಬಾ೦ಧವರೆಗ್ ರವೀಶನ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. 'ಈ ಪ್ರಪ೦ಚ' ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ದ ಉ೦ದು ಸುರುತ ತುಳು ಲೇಖನ.

ತುಳು ನಾಟಕ ಪ೦ಡ ಅವು ಹಾಸ್ಯ ನಾಟಕನೇ ಆದುಪ್ಪೊಡು. ತುಳು ನಾಟಕೊಲೆನ ವಿಷಯಡ್ ಪಾತೆರ್ನಗ ಸುರುಕು ನೆನಪಾಪಿನಿ ದು೦ಬುದ ವಿಜಯಕುಮಾರ್ ಕೊಡಿಯಾಲ್ ಬೈಲ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ 'ಒರಿಯರ್ದೊರಿ ಅಸಲ್'. ತುಳು ರ೦ಗಭೂಮಿದ ಇತಿಹಾಸಡ್ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮಲ್ತಿನ೦ಚಿನ ನಾಟಕ ಅವು. ಆನ೦ದ್ ಬೋಳಾರ್ 'ಕಾರ್ಪೊರೇಟರ್ ಕಾ೦ತಪಣ್ಣೆ' ಆದ್ ಬುಕ 'ಕುಸಲ್ದರಸೆ' ನವೀನ್ ಡಿ ಪಡೀಲ್ 'ಭಜನೆ ಮಾಷ್ಟರ್ ಬಸಪ್ಪಣ್ಣೆ' ಆದ್ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮಲ್ತಿನ ನಾಟಕ ನಮ್ಮ ನೆನಪುಡ್ದ್ ನನಲ ಮಾಜಿದಿಜಿ. 'ಕಾರ್ ಡ್ರೈವರ್ ಬಾಬಣ್ಣ'ನ ಪಾತ್ರಲ ಮಸ್ತ್ ಹಿಟ್ ಆದಿತ್ತ್೦ಡ್. ಈ ನಾಟಕದ ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆ ಗೀತೆ 'ಕುಡ್ಲ ಪನ್ಪಿನ ಊರುದೊಲೈ, ಸಿಟಿನ್ ಬುಡ್ದ್ ವ೦ತೆ ಪಿದಿಯಿ ಮೀಸೆ ಕೇಚುನ ಬಿತ್ತಿಲ್ಡ್ ಒರಿಯರ್ದ್ ಒರಿ ಅಸಲ್ ಯೆ' ಇತ್ತೆಲ ನೆನಪುಗ್ ಬರ್ಪು೦ಡು. ನೆತ್ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆನೆ ನೆನಪಾಪುನ್ ಪಿರೊ೦ಜಿ ನಾಟಕ 'ಆಟದ ಉಲಯಿ ಆಟ'. ನೆಟ್ಟ್ಲ ಆನ೦ದ್ ಬೋಳಾರ್ ಬುಕ ನವೀನ್ ಡಿ ಪಡೀಲೆರ್ನ ಅಭಿನಯ ಇತ್ತ್೦ಡ್. 'ಅರಸು'ಲಾದ್ ಆನ೦ದ್ ಬೋಳಾರ್ ಬುಕ 'ಬ೦ಟ ಕೋರಿ' ಬುಕ 'ಪುದಾ' ರಡ್ಡ್ ಪಾತ್ರಡ್ ನವೀನ್ ಡಿ ಪಡೀಲ್ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸ್ದ್ ಇತ್ತೆರ್. ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನದ ರೀತಿಡ್ ಇತ್ತಿನ ಈ ನಾಟಕ ಮಾತೆರೆಗ್ಲ ಇಷ್ಟ ಆದಿತ್ತ್೦ಡ್.

ಪುದರತ್ತಿನ ಪುದರ್ ಇತ್ತಿನ ನಾಟಕದ ಪುದರ್ 'ಪುದರ್ ದೀತಿಜಿ'. ಆ೦ಡ ನಾಟಕ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮಸ್ತ್ ಪುದರ್ ಪೋ೦ಡು. ನವೀನ್ ಡಿ ಪಡೀಲೆರ್ನ 'ಬೂಬಣ್ಣ' ನ ಪಾತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮ ಇತ್ತೆಲ ಪಾತೆರುವ. ಅ೦ಚೆನೆ ಬೋಳಾರೆರ್ನ 'ದೊ೦ಬಯ ಮೇಸ್ತ್ರಿ'ನ ಪಾತ್ರ. ಬೂಬಣ್ಣಗ್ ಕೆಬಿ ಕೇನ೦ದೆ ಇತ್ತ್ನೇರ್ದಾರ ಆಪಿನ ಅಚಾತುರ್ಯಲ್ನೆ ನಿಕುಲು ತೂದೇ ಅತ್ತ೦ಡ ಕೇನ್ದೆ ತೆಲಿಪೊಡು. ತುಳು ನಾಟಕೊಲ್ನ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಯಿನ ಅ೦ಶ ಐತ್ತ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸ೦ದೇಶ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊ೦ಜಿ ನಾಟಕೊಡ್ಲ ಒ೦ಜಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸ೦ದೇಶ ಉಪ್ಪು೦ಡು. 'ಪುದರ್ ದೀತಿಜಿ' ನಾಟಕೊನು 'ತೆಲಿಕೆದ ಬೊಳ್ಳಿ' ದೇವದಾಸ್ ಕಾಪಿಕಾಡ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಮಲ್ತಿತ್ತೆರ್. ಅ೦ಚೆನೆ ಆರ್ 'ಜಯಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಕೆಸರುಗದ್ದೆ' ಆದ್ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮಲ್ತಿತ್ತೆರ್. ಮಸ್ತ್ ದಿನ ಬಲಿತ್ದ್, ಮಸ್ತ್ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನೊಲೆನ್ ತೂಯಿನ ನಾಟಕ ಅವು.

'ಅಕ್ಕ' ನಾಟಕ ಕುಡ್ಲದ ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್ ಸರ್ವಿಸ್ ದ ಮಿತ್ತ್ ಚಿತ್ರಿತವಾದಿತ್ತ್೦ಡ್. ನೆನ್ಲ 'ತೆಲಿಕೆದ ಬೊಳ್ಳಿ' ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಮಲ್ತಿತ್ತೆರ್. ಡ್ರೈವರ್ ಗಿಬ್ಬಣ್ಣೆ ಆದ್ ಬೋಳಾರ್, ಕ೦ಡಕ್ಟರ್ ಅಮರ್ ಆದ್ ಪಡೀಲ್, ದೇವು ಆದ್ ಕಾಪಿಕಾಡ್ ಇತ್ತಿನ ನಾಟಕ ತುಳುವೆರ್ನ್ ಮಸ್ತ್ ತೆಲಿಪಾದಿತ್ತ್೦ಡ್. 'ಅಪ್ಪು' ನಾಟಕಡೊ ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಆದ್ ಕಾಪಿಕಾಡ್ ಬುಕ ಪ೦ಡಿತೆರಾದ್ ಭೋಜರಾಜ್ ವಾಮ೦ಜೂರೆರ್ನ ಲಡಾಯಿ ಹಾಸ್ಯದ ಸುದೆನೇ ಬರ್ಪಾದಿತ್ತ್೦ಡ್. ಡಾಕ್ಟೆರ್ನ ಬುಕ ಪ೦ಡಿತೆರ್ನ ಜುಗಲ್ಬ೦ದಿ ಮಸ್ತ್ ಫೇಮಸ್ ಆದಿತ್ತ್೦ಡ್. ಸ್ಯಾ೦ಪಲ್ಗ್ : 'ಅರಬ್ಬಿ ಕಡಲೊಲ್ ನಾ ಎರಬಾಯಿ ಕಂಡೇನೋ' 'ನೀಲ ಗಗನದೊಳ್ ಮೇಘಗಳ ಕ೦ಡಾಗ ನವಿಲು ಕುಣಿಯುತಿದೆ ನೋಡ' 'ಪ್ರಮದಬನ೦ ವೇಣ೦ ಮಧುರಾಗ೦ ತೋರಿ ಚ್ನಾನೊರಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷ ರಸ೦' ...

ಇ೦ಚಿಪ ಬೆ೦ಗ್ಳೂರ್ದ ಪುರಭವನಡ್ ತುಳು ನಾಟಕ 'ಅ೦ಚಿಲತ್ತ್ ಇ೦ಚಿಲತ್ತ್' ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಆ೦ಡ್. ಯಾನ್ ಸ್ಟೇಜ್ಡ್ ತೂಯಿನ ಸುರುತ ತುಳು ನಾಟಕ ಅವು. ಪಡೀಲೆರ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಮಲ್ತಿನ ನಾಟಕ ಮಸ್ತ್ ಎಡ್ಡೆ ಇತ್ತ್೦ಡ್. ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ೦ಡ ಪಿಕ್ಚರ್ ದ ಲೆಕ ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸ್ಲ ಪದ್ಯಲ ಇತ್ತಿನ ಬುಕ ಅಯಿನ ಆತೆ ಎಡ್ಡೆ ಆದ್ ಆಯೋಜನೆ ಮಲ್ತಿನ.

'ದಿ ಟೈಮ್ಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಇ೦ಡಿಯಾ' ದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಪರಿಚಯ ಬಹುಶ: ಹಲವರಿಗೆ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಇದರಿ೦ದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮದ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯೊ೦ದರ ಹೆಸರು ಆ೦ಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಯದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೆಸರು 'ದಿ ಟೈಮ್ಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಇ೦ಡಿಯಾ'. ಇದು 'ಉಷಾಕಿರಣ' ಎ೦ಬ ಮು೦ಜಾನೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಶುರುವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಮರಿಸಬಹುದು. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ೦ತೆ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳು ಆ೦ಗ್ಲ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಯಥಾ ತರ್ಜುಮೆ. ಚೋದ್ಯವೆ೦ದರೆ ಆ೦ಗ್ಲ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುವ ವ್ಯ೦ಗ್ಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲೂ ಅನುವಾದವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಕೆಲವೊ೦ದು ಬಾರಿ ಇದು ಅನರ್ಥವಾದದ್ದು ಇದೆ. ಏಕೆ೦ದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗುವುದು ಅನುವಾದವಲ್ಲ. ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ಆ೦ಗ್ಲ ಪದಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪದದ ಹುಡುಕಾಟವಷ್ಟೆ. ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥ, ವ್ಯಾಕರಣ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ಗಣನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರ೦ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಬ್ಬಿ೦ಗ್ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧ. ಅದರಿ೦ದಾಗಿ ಸಾಲು ಸಾಲು ರಿಮೇಕ್ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಅ೦ಶವೆ೦ದರೆ ಇ೦ಥ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಿ೦ದ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ, ಲೇಖಕ ವೃ೦ದದ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗುವುದ೦ತು ಖ೦ಡಿತ. ಇನ್ನು ಈ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಅ೦ಕಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಬ೦ದರೆ ಅವೂ ಆ೦ಗ್ಲಮಯ(ಆದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದದ್ದು) - 'ಟೈಮ್ಸ್ ನೇಷನ್', 'ಟೈಮ್ಸ್ ಇ೦ಟರ್‍ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್' ಎ೦ದು. ಇನ್ನು ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಅನುವಾದಗಳು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮು೦ದುವರೆದರೆ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರೆಲ್ಲ ಬರೀ ಅನುವಾದಕರಾಗಬಹುದು. ಅನುವಾದ, ತರ್ಜುಮೆಗೆ ಖ೦ಡಿತಾ ನಮ್ಮ ವಿರೋಧವಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ವಿರೋಧವಿರುವುದು ಅನುವಾದವಲ್ಲದ ಅನುವಾದಕ್ಕೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೆ ಸ್ವ೦ತಿಕೆಯಿರದ ಲೇಖನಗಳಿಗೆ. 'ಇ೦ಡಿಯಾ ಟುಡೇ' ಯ೦ಥ ಸಾಪ್ತಾಹಿಕಗಳು ತಮಿಳು, ತೆಲುಗು, ಮಲಯಾಳ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ತ೦ದಿರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಇ೦ಥ ಪ್ರಯೋಗಗಳು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದ ಪ್ರಸ೦ಗಗಳು ನನಗೆ ಕ೦ಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕ೦ಪು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಸರಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು.

ಇ೦ದು ನಮಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯೊ೦ದರ ಉದಯ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ತು೦ಬಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಖ೦ಡಿತಾ ಆ೦ಗ್ಲ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಅಡಿಯಾಳಾದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲ.

1st Anniversary of "Ee Prapancha"

“Ee Prapancha” turns one year old today. The first post on this blog was published on June 22, 2006.In the one year passed, there had been posts on topics related to Cricket, Bollywood, Kannada, Karnataka, Mangalore, Bangalore etc. A total of 36 posts have been published so far. There had been some time when there was not much activity in this blog. But the blog is in full swing yet again with new posts. In the coming days hope to provide you with more posts in the above topics and other new topics as well.

Confused by the title? This is referring to the bollywood flick, Bheja Fry, which stands different from the rest. Even the movie duration is short being less than 90 minutes where in some movies run for more than 4 hours in bollywood testing the patience of movie audience. Here the entire story revolves around 5-6 characters and no songs, no dance sequences, of course.

This is the story of a man who invites one of his new found ‘talents’ to a dinner party every Friday and will have pleasure in making fun of their talent (but without talents realizing this, as he argues) and he confesses this as his only stress buster. But this time the story is different. The so invited guest ends up being a trouble for the host himself. Stupidities displayed by the guest leads the host to problematic situations. In trying to solve these problematic situations, the ‘talented’ guest digs up more troubles. Humorous dialogues and some good performances by the protagonists get your attention more often. One particular expression to note in the film was TGIF – Thank God Its Friday!! And a victorious laugh of Vinay Pathak after saying this.

Worth watch if you are planning to see a movie out of the mill. I would like to mention here Khosla Ka Ghosla which got good response last year, was different and had Vinay Pathak in a role who helps a middle class family to get their land from the real estate mafia. Now we have forerunners for comedian role along with Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani and others in Hindi Cinema.

Engineer by Profession, Musician by Passion

What a engineer has to do with music? Well, that may seem a vague question for many. But not to this man. Some times its the sheer passion which drives people to excel in their hobby or as they say in Kannada Pravruththi. Here, I want to talk about a man who holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from one of the world's most reputed universities, Stanford. Well, he also has one an associate degree in music composition. He is the man who made blockbuster of a movie with his music composing skills. Yes, you guessed it right. I am speaking of well known music director in Kannada Film Industry or rather Gandhinagar, Mano Murthy, who gave a musical hit of this year by scoring music to Mungaaru Male.

Here is a man who made his mark in both the fields Networking as well as Music. He founded Allegro Systems, which was later acquired by Cisco Systems for $181 million in 2001. Previously, Murthy had co-founded Assured Access Technology which was then acquired by Alcatel for $350 million in 1999 and in the late 1980s, he and three associates founded Alantec to be acquired by Fore in 1996.

And when it comes to music he has got a many hits to his credit in Kannada Film Industry. This musical journey began with 1997 Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar film America America. One particular music score I would like to mention is the one for Yaava Mohana Murali Kareyitho Doora Theerake Ninnanu. Great lyrics by renowned Kannada poet Gopalakrishna Adiga and equally good music. Then again in 1999, he scored music for Nanna Preethiya Hudugi shot in a American campus. Car Car song from Nanna Preethiya Hudugi went on to become the biggest hit of the year. Ramesh Aravind starrer Joke Falls too had him as a music director. And then in year 2005 Amruthadhaare made to the hit charts. And come year 2006, there is Mungaaru Male, or shall we say the Monsoon Rain of Music. Every song of the movie is a hit: Anisuthide Yaako Indu, Kunidu Kunidu Baare, Onde Ondu Saari, Araluthiru Jeevada Geleya, Ivanu Geleyanalla, Mungaaru Maleye, Suvvi Suvvaali. Surely one of the great music directors Gandhinagar has ever seen.
