How to get Official Transcripts from VTU through Bangalore Regional Office?

If you have completed Bachelor of Engineering(B.E) from Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU), Belgaum, you would need official transcripts from the university, if you are applying for higher studies abroad or during immigration. This post explains the procedure to get VTU Official Transcripts through Bangalore Regional Office.
  1. Get the Required documents ready
    1. Filled application form for issue of official transcript - You can find the application form from the VTU website here. Take a print out of the second page and fill in the details.
    2. Photocopies of all semester marks cards
    3. Demand Draft(DD) for the required number of copies of transcript. One has to pay Rs.250 for the first copy and Rs.150 for the subsequent copies. So, if you require 5 copies, then you have to make a DD for 250 + 150 * 4 = Rs.850/-. DD has to be drawn in favour of "Finance Office, VTU Belgaum"
  2. Visit Bangalore Regional Office To Submit the Documents
    1. You can visit the office on any working day before 4 pm(even on a Saturday!) and submit the documents.
    2. Following is the address of VTU Regional Office, Bangalore
    3. Visvesvaraya Technological University, Regional Center Bengaluru,
      RHCS Layout, Annapoorneshwarinagar, Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru-560091.
      Contact number : 080-23016694
      email: sorob4@vtu.ac.in
Note : Person receiving the documents would inform when you have to come back for collecting the transcripts. It will be usually a week after. So, if you submit on a Saturday, you can collect the transcripts the next Saturday.
  3. Visit Bangalore Regional Office to collect the transcript after a week
    1. Produce any government ID card to collect the official transcripts.
    2. Transcripts from VTU would contain transcripts in as many envelopes as the number of copies applied, along with a photocopy of the transcript without any cover. You can have a look at the photocopy to see the contents of the transcript.
    3. Each copy of transcript would be sealed in a separated envelope with VTU seal, signed by VTU Registrar(evaluation). Don't open the envelopes as you would need to send them as it is, while applying for foreign universities.

  1. Bangalore Regional office accepts only online payments these days.(Starting 1 Sep 2017). And that also should be made within the last 7 days from date of application submission. Such a big scam.

  3. There is Request form from Word Education services (WES) that says complete this form and return it along with the transcript package. The form is called "Academic Records Request Form" where some fields are reserved for completion by university officials. Is it mandatory to send this form also with the transcripts? Because in Bangalore VTU branch, they are saying we cannot sign/seal any form.

  4. Do we have to go in person to submit and pick up documents or can we send some other person on behalf?

    1. I believe in person is the best option. Not sure during applying whether you need to go in-person. However, when you go to collect the transcript, they will ask for the ID card. So, best to go in-person.
