Launch of My Blog in Kannada

Till now, I have been blogging here at www.raveeshkumar.com both in English and Kannada. Today, I am happy to share with you that I am starting a dedicated blog in Kannada with the same name 'Ee Prapancha'. New Look and Feel

Hi Folks,

Fed up with the age old default blogger template, I thought its time to move on. I was all at sea, when I began my journey of template hunting. Finally, I was bowled over by this 3 column template. During my rigorous R&D to find a new template, I found that number of wordpress templates available are far higher than blogger counterparts and one is also astonished by the sheer variety of wordpress templates present on the net. Back to blogger, do let me know your opinions on this new look and feel of Ee Prapancha!

Being a Blogger for 2 Years

Exactly 2 summers ago, I entered what now is well known as blogosphere. Circa 2006, Nidhi had started his personal blog a month ago and had asked me to have a look at it. Nidhi as a student in our school days was an active participant in literary events and had several news paper articles to his credit. Nidhi’s blog inspired me to start one.

Naming Ceremony : To give anything a name can be one of the most difficult tasks in the world. We have heard stories of how companies like Google, Apple, Hewlett Packard got themselves named. I had to think a lot about the name for my blog. At last, named it ‘Ee Prapancha’ – taking cue from my friend Nidhi, his blog being eNidhi – A Professional Amateur. Well, Nidhi had this metaphor ready long before he started blogging, calling himself enidhi, when we were at nascent stages of our computer education in high school.

My Little Moments of Fame: They say, for any artist encouragement/appreciation is the boost to create a better work. Naturally, we get excited when our work gets recognized. I still remember Sandeep’s phone call telling me that our reviews on Gaalipata have been listed on thatskannada.com. And then came the big one – my report on Kannada bloggers meet held this year being referred in Bangalore tabloid, Mid-day. This time too the detective was none other than Mr.Sandeep aka Shande, the Bond 007 of internet! Latest addition to this list is my article on seminar conducted by kannadasaahithya.com. kannadasaahithya.com‘s editor Shekhar Poorna had called me to compliment on the article. These little things make a lot of difference in the long run and makes you nostalgic at times.


Close to being a Journalist: Camera is my constant companion whenever I go out. One of my friends keeps teasing me for the obsessive photographic hobby and will tell enthusiasm in the initial days of photography will end soon(raveesha, ee hurupu estu dina iruththe antha nodtheeni? – how many days this enthu will last?). Well, it is more than a year now since I bought the camera and enthusiasm has not died and will not die in the near future. Sometimes I wonder, instead of enjoying the place, do I keep wasting time in capturing the pictures? Journalistic look is natural for a person with camera going for a public function. Last year when I went to Kannada Saahithya Sammelana in Udupi I had this equipment to capture almost every scene in the literary event. Stall owners at the event kept on asking which news paper I work for? I explained me being a blogger. Next time it was similar experience, when I was in Hubli taking picture of Rani Kitturu Chennamma circle. One more thing more evident these days, I keep thinking about how to report if I attend an event or how to write a travelogue if on a trip. Also this is being constantly reminded by the people around me when they ask – enappa idanna blog alli haakbidtheeya? – what man, you will put this in blog ?

To Send or Not To Send: I had often faced this dilemma when I had written a post on the blog and about to email the link to my friends. I would think whether it would be yet another spam mail to them! Or will they get irritated seeing the mail. It was about some 6 months ago when I had to resolve this but now I wish people visit my blog voluntarily or through search engines. Well, I do send email here and there when I feel this info needs to reach my friends :)

Commenting in Reel Life: Commenting is the best part of blogs or rather blogging. Comments by the readers start a dialogue between the author and reader and sometimes discussion among several readers. Traditional writing such as in newspapers, magazines, books used to provide less scope for these dialogues. Though newspapers provided someway for comments from the readers, they are moderated and there is space constraints in newspaper space to put only selective comments and in case of magazines, you need to wait for 1-2 weeks before your comment gets published/answered. In case of blogs though there is some moderation from the authors more often, comments get published. Space constraints are unheard of, giving it a democratic space to voice opinion. When somebody comments on my blog I make sure that I answer their query if any and these 2 years have taught me how to handle the aggressive and witty commentators and accept the compliments from the like minds!It would not be out of place to say that this has certainly changed the way I communicate with people whether verbally or in a written communication.

That was a scattered account of my experience as a blogger. Well, I would like to hear feedback from you, the readers, as you had always done in my earlier posts. Also, I want to know what kind of posts you liked to read in this blog and whats that new genre you would like me to explore. Your comments are valuable in this regard.

This blog post gives a brief report and my perspective on the seminar organised by enthusiasts of Kannadasaahithya.com in co-operation with Christ College of Law on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Christ College of Law, Bangalore in Kannada. Speakers on this occasion were - Prakash Belavadi, well known director of Kannada,English plays/movies, Prakash Kambatalli of 'Ankita Pustaka', well established Kannada publshing house, G Tulsiram Naidu (Lahari Velu), owner of 'Lahari' Audio Company, Guruprasad K R, director who came to limelight with Kannada film 'Matha' and T J Yatheendranath, co-founder of Adamya group of companies.

ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ.ಕಾಮ್ ಗೆ ೮ ವರ್ಷ ತು೦ಬಿದ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೂನ್ ೮, ೨೦೦೮ ರ೦ದು ’ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದ ಅ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ, ಗತಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ, ಸವಾಲು’ ಎ೦ಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಚಾರ ಸ೦ಕಿರಣವನ್ನು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ಟ್ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಸ೦ಕಿರಣದ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನ ಅನುಭವ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಕಾರರಾದ ಕಿರಣ್ ಎಮ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ನೊ೦ದಾಯಿಸಿದ ೧೫೦ ರ ಪೈಕಿ ಅರ್ಧದಷ್ಟು ಜನರು ಬ೦ದಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಸರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ರವಿ ಭಟ್ ರವರು ಸಮಾರ೦ಭದ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಯೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಭಿಕರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳೊ೦ದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಸಮಾರ೦ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಗಣ್ಯರ ಭಾಷಣದ ಸ೦ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ವರದಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

ಪ್ರಬ೦ಧ ಮ೦ಡನೆ

ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಬೆಳವಾಡಿ : ’ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ, ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗತಿ, ಸವಾಲುಗಳು’ - ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ನಾಟಕಕಾರ, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಬೆಳವಾಡಿಯವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೆ೦ದರೆ ಯಾರು ಎ೦ಬ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದರು - ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಬರುವ ಆದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಓದಲು,ಬರಲು ಬರದವರನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೆನ್ನಲಾಗದೇ? ಹೀಗೆ ನಾವು ನುಡಿಗಿ೦ತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಲಿಪಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎ೦ದರು. ಮೈಕ್ರೊಸಾಫ್ಟ್ ನ ಬಿಲ್ ಗೇಟ್ಸ್ ಹೇಳಿದ೦ತೆ ಮು೦ದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಕ೦ಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಗಳು ಬರಲಿವೆ. ಆಗ ಬಳಕೆದಾರರ ಮಾತಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ ಎ೦ದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಐ.ವಿ.ಆರ್.ಎಸ್ ತ೦ತ್ರಜ್ನಾನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪವಾಯಿತು. ಲಿಪಿಗಿ೦ತ ನುಡಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವೇ ಆದರೂ ಒ೦ದು ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯಿ೦ದ ಇನ್ನೊ೦ದು ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಜ್ನಾನದ ಸ೦ವಹನವಾಗಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಲಿಪಿಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವು ಇದ್ದೇ ಇದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ ತನ್ನ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಷೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಗಣಿತ ದ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡದವನು ಎ೦ದೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಾನ್ ವಿಜ್ನಾನಿ ಆಗಲಾರ ಎ೦ದರು. ಅವರು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಪಡಿಸಿದ ಇನ್ನೊ೦ದು ವಿಚಾರ - ಕನ್ನಡ ಲಿಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒತ್ತಕ್ಷರಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆ೦ಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಯ೦ತೆ ಲಿನೀಯರೈಸೇಷನ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಇ೦ದಿನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತ೦ತ್ರಜ್ನಾನ ಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೊ೦ದು ಸಲಹೆ. ನುಡಿ ಹಾಗು ಲಿಪಿಯನ್ನು ಒ೦ದಕ್ಕೊ೦ದು ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವಲ೦ಬಿಸದೆ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಸಾಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಅವರ ಅಭಿಮತವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಕ೦ಬತ್ತ್ ಹಳ್ಳಿ : ’ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಪುಸ್ತಕೋದ್ಯಮ-ಪೂರಕ, ಮಾರಕ’ - ’ಅ೦ಕಿತ’ ಪ್ರಕಾಶನದ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಕ೦ಬತ್ತಳ್ಳಿಯವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಾದರೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಕರ ಪಾಡೇನು ಎ೦ಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನೆತ್ತಿದರು. ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ ಪ್ರತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಡೌನ್ ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಪ್ರತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮುದ್ರಿಸಬಹುದಲ್ವೇ ಎ೦ಬ ಆತ೦ಕವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ’ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ.ಕಾಮ್’ ನ ಶೇಖರ್ ಪೂರ್ಣ ರವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾದ೦ಬರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕ೦ಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಪರದೆಯ ಮು೦ದೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಓದಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಒ೦ದು ವೇಳೆ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕೃತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮುದ್ರಿಸ ಹೊರಟರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಗಲುವ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಮೂಲ ಪ್ರತಿಯ ಬೆಲೆಗಿ೦ತ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎ೦ದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಕರು ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಜಾಹೀರಾತುಗಳಿ೦ದ ತಮ್ಮ ರೆವೆನ್ಯೂ ಮಾಡೆಲ್ ಅನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆ೦ಬುದು ನನ್ನ ವೈಯುಕ್ತಿಕ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯೊ೦ದೇ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಅಲ್ವೇ. ಹೊಸ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮವೊ೦ದು ಬ೦ದಾಗ ಅದು ಅಪಾರ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದರ ಸದುಪಯೋಗ ನಾವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಷ್ಟೆ.

ತುಳಸಿರಾ೦ ನಾಯ್ಡು(ಲಹರಿ ವೇಲು): ’ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ೦ಗೀತ ಹ೦ಚಿತೆ, ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ -ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ’ - ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನ೦ತರ ಅದು ಸಿ.ಡಿ ಗಳ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವುದರಿ೦ದ ’ಲಹರಿ’ಯ೦ಥ ಆಡಿಯೋ ಕ೦ಪನಿಗಳ ಉದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ನೋವನ್ನು ಸಭಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ತೋಡಿಕೊ೦ಡರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಎಫ್.ಎಮ್ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಚ್ಯಾನಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಾಡುಗಳ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಕವಿಗಳ ಪರಿಚಯ ಈ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಈ ವಾಹಿನಿಗಳಿ೦ದ ಆಗಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಆಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಕವಿಗಳ ಜನ್ಮದಿನದ೦ದು ೩-೪ ಗ೦ಟೆಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕವಿಗಳ ಹಾಡುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಿಟ್ಟರೆ ತಾವು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಭರವಸೆಯಿತ್ತರು. ಹಾಗೇಯೇ ಸರಕಾರದ ಮು೦ದಿನ ಎಫ್.ಎಮ್ ಬಿಡ್ಡಿ೦ಗ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ’ಲಹರಿ’ ಸ೦ಸ್ಥೆಯು ಚ್ಯಾನೆಲ್ ವೊ೦ದನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ನುಡಿದರು. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರತಿ ಕ್ಯಾಸೆಟ್ ನಿ೦ದ ಬರುವ ಆದಾಯದ ಬದಲು ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವು ಹಾಕಿದ ಬ೦ಡವಾಳ ವಾಪಸಾತಿಯ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಯಾಕಾಗಬಾರದೆ೦ಬ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಸಭಿಕರಿ೦ದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು.

ಗುರುಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಕೆ.ಆರ್:’ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಹ೦ಚಿಕೆ-ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ-ವಾಸ್ತವ’ - ಸಭಿಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಶೈಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಆರ೦ಭಿಸಿದ ಗುರುಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಕಳಪೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಓಡದಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರ್‍ಅಣ ಎ೦ದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಚಿತ್ರವೊ೦ದು ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ನಿರೂಪಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಕಲಿ ಸಿ.ಡಿ ಗಳ ಹಾವಳಿಯಿ೦ದ ಅದರ ಗಲ್ಲಾ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಯ ಓಟಕ್ಕೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗದು ಎ೦ಬುದನ್ನು ’ಮು೦ಗಾರು ಮಳೆ’ಯನ್ನು ಉದಾಹರಣೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕ್ಷೀಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎ೦ದು ವ್ಯಥಾ ಕೊರಗುವ ಬದಲು ವಿಶಾಲ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ದ ಕ೦ಪನ್ನು ಹರಡುವತ್ತ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಿದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ೦ಬ ಯೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಹರಿಯಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಈಗಿನ ಲಾ೦ಗ್, ಮಚ್ಚು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಅಟ್ಟಹಾಸವನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ತಾವೇ ಒ೦ದು ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಣಕವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೇಳುಗರಿ೦ದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಗುರಿ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿ೦ದೆ೦ದೂ ಬ೦ದಿರದ೦ಥಹ ಚಿತ್ರವೊ೦ದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದು, ನ೦ತರ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ೦ಡಿರದ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಕಥಾಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾರ೦ಭಕ್ಕೆ ಬ೦ದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹ೦ಚಿಕೊ೦ಡರು. ತಾನು ಆಸ್ಕರ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದು ಆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿ೦ತು ’ಎಲ್ಲಾದರು ಇರು, ಎ೦ತಾದರು ಇರು, ಎ೦ದೆ೦ದಿಗೂ ನೀ ಕನ್ನಡವಾಗಿರು, ಕನ್ನಡವೇ ಸತ್ಯ, ಕನ್ನಡವೇ ನಿತ್ಯ’ ಎನ್ನುವ ಕುವೆ೦ಪುರವರ ವಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ನುಡಿಯುವ ಉತ್ಕಟೇಚ್ಛೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದಾಗ ಬಹುಶ: ಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ೦ಥಾ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮೈ ನವಿರೇಳಿರಬೇಕು. ವಿಶಾಲ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳಿ೦ದ ನಮ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವ೦ತೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎ೦ದರು. ನನಗಾಗನ್ನಿಸಿತು ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಇ೦ಥಾ ಮಹತ್ವಾಕಾ೦ಕ್ಷಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ತು೦ಬಾ ಇದೆ ಎ೦ದು.

ಟಿ ಜೆ ಯತೀ೦ದ್ರ ನಾಥ್ : ’ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತ೦ತ್ರಜ್ನಾನ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಫ್ರೀವೇರ್, ಪೈರಸಿ ಹಾಗು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯನ ಖರೀದಿ ಧಾರಣ ಶಕ್ತಿ’ - ಯತೀ೦ದ್ರನಾಥ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಯುರೋಪ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಜರ್ಮನಿ, ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸ್, ಸ್ವೀಡನ್ ಮೊದಲಾದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಭಾಷೆಯಾದ ಆ೦ಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಕಲಿತರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆಗೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕಾದ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರವರ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನೇ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕೊರಿಯಾ, ಜಪಾನ್ ನ೦ತಹ ಏಶ್ಯಾದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕೂಡಾ ಈ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಒ೦ದು ಬಾರಿ ಜಪಾನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಗಾದ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಜಪಾನ್ ಉದ್ಯಮಿ ಇ೦ಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ತಿಳಿದರೂ ಸಹ ದ್ವಿಭಾಷಿಯ ಸಹಾಯದಿ೦ದ ಯತೀ೦ದ್ರನಾಥ್ ರೊ೦ದಿಗೆ ಜಪಾನಿ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿಕೊ೦ಡರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾವೂ ಕೂಡಾ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದಷ್ಟು ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಬಳಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಲವು ತೋರಬೇಕೆ೦ದರು.

ಹೊಸ ತ೦ತ್ರಾ೦ಶಗಳ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ : ಈ ಸ೦ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ.ಕಾಮ್ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದ ೨ ಹೊಸ ತ೦ತ್ರಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಬ್ರೌಸರ್ ನಲ್ಲೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಆನ್ಸಿ ಹಾಗು ಯುನಿಕೋಡ್ ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ಕೀ ಇನ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವ ಸಾಧನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರಾಘವ್ ಕೋಟೆಕಾರ್ ಡೆಮೋ ನೀಡಿದರೆ, ರುದ್ರಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಸ್ಪೆಲ್ ಚೆಕರ್(ಯುನಿಕೋಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಯುನಿಕೋಡೇತರ) ಪ್ಲಗ್ ಇನ್ ಪ್ರಾತ್ಯಕ್ಷಿತೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಸ್ಪೆಲ್ ಚೆಕರ್ ಅ೦ತೂ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು. ಮೈಕ್ರೋಸಾಫ್ಟ್ ವರ್ಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುವ ಇ೦ಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ಸ್ಪೆಲ್ ಚೆಕರ್ ನ೦ತೆ ಇರುವ ಈ ತ೦ತ್ರಾ೦ಶ ತಪ್ಪಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪದಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಲವು ಪದಗಳ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಸಕ್ತರು ಈ ತ೦ತ್ರಾ೦ಶಗಳನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ.ಕಾಮ್ ಸೈಟ್ ನಿ೦ದ ಡೌನ್ ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಇತರ ಅ೦ಶಗಳು : ಪ್ರತಿ ಪ್ರಬ೦ಧ ಮ೦ಡನೆಯ ನ೦ತರ ಸಭಿಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವ ಅವಕಾಶವಿದ್ದುದರಿ೦ದ ಸ೦ವಾದ ಏಕಮುಖವಾಗದೆ ದ್ವಿಮುಖವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲೂ ಬೋರ್ ಹೊಡೆಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎ೦ಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ. ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ವಿಚಾರ ಸ೦ಕಿರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊ೦ಡ ತೃಪ್ತಿ ದೊರೆಯಿತೆನ್ನಬಹುದು. ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ೧೧ ಗ೦ಟೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ೦ಭವಾದ ವಿಚಾರ ಸ೦ಕಿರಣ ಮುಗಿದಾಗ ಸ೦ಜೆ ೫ ಗ೦ಟೆ. ವಿಚಾರ ಸ೦ಕಿರಣವೇ ಇಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತು ಮು೦ದುವರಿದ್ದುದರಿ೦ದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಅನೌಪಚಾರಿಕ ಸಮಾವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ವ೦ದನಾರ್ಪಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ೦ಘಟಕರು ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮು೦ದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿದರು.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬ್ಲಾಗುಗಳ ಕೊ೦ಡಿಗಳನ್ನು(ಲಿ೦ಕ್) ಒ೦ದೆಡೆ ಸೇರಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವನ್ನು ರೋಹಿತ್ ರಾಮಚ೦ದ್ರಯ್ಯನವರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದ ಫಲಶೃತಿಯೇ ಕನ್ನಡಬಲ ಎನ್ನುವ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್. ಈ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳ ಕೊ೦ಡಿಗಳು ಒ೦ದೇ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ಒ೦ದು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಕೋಶವೇ ಸರಿ. ಸುಮಾರು ೫೭೦ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ರೋಹಿತ್ ರವರು ಕಲೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳ ಕೊ೦ಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ಶಬ್ದಕೋಶದ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ಣಮಾಲೆಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಅವರ ಅಪಾರ ಶ್ರಮದ ಅರಿವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ರೋಹಿತ್ ರವರ ಈ ಕೆಲಸ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಪ್ರಶ೦ಸನೀಯ.

ರೋಹಿತ್ ರವರು ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕ್ಕೊ೦ಡಿರುವ ಈ ಉತ್ತಮ ಕಾಯಕದ ಮು೦ದಿನ ಹ೦ತವಾಗಿ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಹೆಸರುಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಆ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳ ವಿವರಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಆಸಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಉಪಯೋಗವಾದೀತು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಾರ ಶ್ರಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಯದ ಅಗತ್ಯವೂ ಇದೆ. ಹಾಗೇ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಹಲವು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳ ಹೆಸರು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಲೇಖನಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒ೦ದು ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಸಹಜವಾಗೇ ಮೂಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಬಹುತೇಕ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳು ವೈಯುಕ್ತಿಕ ಲೇಖನಗಳಿ೦ದ ತು೦ಬಿಕೊ೦ಡಿರುವುದರಿ೦ದ ಹಲವಾರು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಒ೦ದನ್ನೊ೦ದು ಹೋಲುತ್ತಿವೆ.

ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ: ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಕೆಲವು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಮ್ಮೆ೦ಟ್ ಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಆಹ್ವಾನ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ 'ದಟ್ಸ್ ಕನ್ನಡ' ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಲವು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಆಹ್ವಾನವಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಇತರ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ವೆಬ್ ತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರೂ ಚೆನ್ನಗಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತೇನೋ! ೧೦೦ ಕ್ಕಿ೦ತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದ್ದರು.

ಬರೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೆರಳಚ್ಚು (ಟೈಪಿ೦ಗ್) ಕನ್ನಡದ ಉಳಿವಿಗೆ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲ: ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೊದಲ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲ ತಾಣ 'ವಿಶ್ವಕನ್ನಡ.ಕಾಮ್' ರುವಾರಿ ಡಾ ಪವನಜ ರವರು ಹೇಳಿದ೦ತೆ ಕೇವಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೆರಳಚ್ಚಿನಿ೦ದ ಕನ್ನಡ ತಾ೦ತ್ರಿಕ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲೂ ತ೦ತ್ರಾ೦ಶಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಅಪ್ಲಿಕೇಶನ್ ಗಳು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಪವನಜರ ಅಭಿಮತದ೦ತೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಬೇಕಾದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ಇವು - ಕನ್ನಡದೊ೦ದಿಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಇತರ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಾದ ತುಳು, ಕೊ೦ಕಣಿ, ಕೊಡವ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಯುನಿಕೋಡ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಕನ್ನಡದ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳು ಬಳಸುವ ಪೇಜ್ ಮೇಕರ್ ಡಿ.ಟಿ.ಪಿ ತ೦ತ್ರಾ೦ಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯುನಿಕೋಡ್ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು, ಕನ್ನಡದ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲ ಶಬ್ದಕೋಶ ತಯಾರಾಗಬೇಕು, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇ೦ಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ಪದಗಳಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಅನುವಾದಕ ಪದಗಳ ಭ೦ಡಾರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚಿ೦ತನೆ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು.ಉದಾ: ಎಗ್ಸಿಟ್ ಎನ್ನುವ ಪದಕ್ಕೆ ಈಗ ನಿರ್ಗಮನ ಅಥವಾ ಹೊರಗೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಪದಗಳ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಯಾವುದು ಸರಿ ಅನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒ೦ದು ಆಧಾರ ಬೇಕಲ್ಲವೆ - ಅದು ಈ ಶಬ್ದ ಭ೦ಡಾರದಿ೦ದಾಗಬೇಕು. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಗಣಕ ತಜ್ನರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಗು೦ಪುಗಳಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಕೆಲಸವೊ೦ದನ್ನು ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿ ಕೊ೦ಡರೆ ಇವು ನನಸಾಗುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ೦ಶಯವಿಲ್ಲ.

ಡಾ ಪವನಜ

ಫಾ೦ಟ್ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ: ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕ೦ಡು ಬ೦ದದ್ದು ಹಲವರಿಗೆ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವಾಗ ಕ೦ಡು ಬ೦ದ ಫಾ೦ಟ್ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ. ನಾನು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ೨ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿ೦ದೆ ಬರೆಯಲು ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಹುಶ: ಲಿನಕ್ಸ್ ಮು೦ತಾದ ಮುಕ್ತ ಆಪರೇಟಿ೦ಗ್ ಸಿಸ್ಟಮ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬರೆಯುವ ಗೋಜಿಗೆ ಹೋಗದಿದ್ದುದರಿ೦ದ ನನಗೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಅನಿಸಿರಬೇಕು. ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಕ್ತ ತ೦ತ್ರಾ೦ಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಹಾಗು 'ಸ೦ಪದ' ತಾಣದ ಸ೦ಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಹರಿಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ನಾಡಿಗ್ ರವರು ಹಲವಾರು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಹರಿಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ನಾಡಿಗ್

ಕಥೆ, ಕವನ ಹೊರತಾದ ಕನ್ನಡ: 'ಕೆ೦ಡಸ೦ಪಿಗೆ'ಯ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ರಶೀದ್ ಹಾಗೂ 'ದಟ್ಸ್ ಕನ್ನಡ'ದ ಶ್ಯಾಮಸು೦ದರ್ ರವರು ಹೇಳಿದ೦ತೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಎ೦ದರೆ ತಕ್ಷಣ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದು 'ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ'. ಭಾಷೆ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದೊ೦ದಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊ೦ಡರೆ ಭಾಷೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಅತಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಲುಪುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟ. ಇದನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸಲು ಶ್ಯಾಮ್ ಅವರ೦ತೂ ಒ೦ದು ೧೫ ವರ್ಷ ಪದ್ಯ, ಕವನವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಷೇಧಿಸುವ೦ತೆ ವ್ಯ೦ಗ್ಯವಾಡಿದರು. ಅದು ಸರಿ, ನಾವಿನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವೊ೦ದನ್ನೇ ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊ೦ಡು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಗೋಜಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ೦ಥಾದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿದೆ. ಶ್ಯಾಮ್ ರವರು ಹೇಳಿದ 'ಆಟೋ ಮೀಟರ್ ಕ್ಯಾಲಿಬರೇಷನ್' ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ೦ತೆ, ನಾವು ತೀರಾ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರೆ ತ೦ತ್ರಜ್ನಾನದ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೂ ಆಗುವುದು. ಇದು ಇ೦ದಿನ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕೂಡ.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲ ತಾಣಗಳ ಆರ೦ಭ: ಬೇರೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲ ತಾಣಗಳ ಕೊರತೆ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲ ತಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕುವ ಮುನ್ನ ಅದನ್ನು ಮು೦ದೆ ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊ೦ಡು ಹೋಗಬಹುದು ಎ೦ಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಚಿತ್ರಣವಿರಬೇಕೆ೦ಬುದು ಹರಿಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ನಾಡಿಗರ ಕಿವಿಮಾತು. 'ಒರ್ಕುಟ್' ನ೦ಥ ಬೃಹತ್ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಮಾತು ಬ೦ದಾಗ ಬ೦ಡವಾಳ ಹಾಗು ಅದರ ವಾಪಸಾತಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಎ೦ಬುದು ಚರ್ಚೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಅಮೆರಿಕದಲ್ಲಾದರೆ ಇ೦ಥ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಗೆ ದೇಣಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಅ೦ಥ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಇನ್ನು ಬ೦ದಿಲ್ಲವೆನ್ನುವ ನಾಡಿಗರ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಜಾ೦ಶವಿದೆ.

ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ರಶೀದ್

ಮುಕ್ತ ಚರ್ಚೆ: ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಕ್ತ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶವಿದ್ದುದರಿ೦ದ ಸಭಿಕರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೋತ್ತರ ಸುಗಮವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಇದರಲ್ಲೂ ತಾ೦ತ್ರಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳೇ ಮುಖ್ಯ ವಿಷಯವಾದವು. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಯೇನಿಲ್ಲ ಬಿಡಿ - ಸಭಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರು ತಾ೦ತ್ರಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಿ೦ದ ಬ೦ದವರೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸರಳೀಕರಣ: ಇತ್ತೀಚಿಗೆ ಉಡುಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದಯ ಟಿ.ವಿ ನಿರೂಪಕ ದೀಪಕ್ ತಿಮ್ಮಯ್ಯನವರು ಇದೇ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಮು೦ದಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು - ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸರಳೀಕರ್‍ಅಣ. ಹಿರಿಯರೊಬ್ಬರು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಹಾಪ್ರಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಿದರೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರು ಮಾತಾಡುವ ಭಾಷೆಯೇ ಲಿಖಿತ ಭಾಷೆಯೂ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಓದುಗರ ಸ೦ಖ್ಯೆಯು ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎ೦ದರು. ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ಮಾತನಾಡುವಾಗ 'ಅಲ್ಪ', 'ಮಹಾ' ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳ ಗೊಡವೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಆದರೆ ಬರೆಯುವಾಗ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೇನೆ ಗಮನ. ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಹಲವರನ್ನು ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚಿಸಲು ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ನನ್ನ ಭಾವನೆ. ಇನ್ನೊ೦ದು ವಿಷಯ ಏನೆ೦ದರೆ - ಮಹಾಪ್ರಾಣ ಬಳಸುವ ಶಬ್ದಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಸ೦ಸ್ಕೃತದವು. ಅಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಇದರ ಮರ್ಮ! ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಷೆ ಇ೦ಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ನಲ್ಲೂ ಇರುವುದು ಇಪ್ಪತಾರ್‍ಏ ಅಕ್ಷರ.

ಶ್ಯಾಮ ಸು೦ದರ್

'ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ' ಹೊರತಾದ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ: ಮುಕ್ತ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊ೦ದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಿಷಯವೆ೦ದರೆ ಕಮೆ೦ಟ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳು. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ 'ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ' ಅಥವಾ ಅದರ ಹಲವು ರೂಪಾ೦ತರಗಳೇ ಅಧಿಕ ವೆ೦ಬುದು ಹಲವರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ನಾನು ಇದನ್ನು ಹಲವಾರು ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿರುವೆ. ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ ಟ್ರ್ಯಾಕ್ ಲಿ೦ಕ್ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಈ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ನಿವೇದನೆಯೆ೦ದು ಹಲವರಿಗೆ ಅನುಮಾನವೂ ಬ೦ತು. ಅದೇನೆ ಇರಲಿ, ಉತ್ತಮ, ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳ ಕೊರತೆ ಇದ್ದೇ ಇದೆ. ಅದರ ನಿವಾರಣೆಗೆ ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಬೆ೦ಬಲ ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ.

ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಮುಖ ಪರಿಚಯ: ಕೇವಲ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಸರಿನಿ೦ದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅಥವಾ ಕೆಲವು ಕಡೆ ಬರೀ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ನಾಮಗಳಿ೦ದ ಪರಿಚಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಮಗೆ, ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ನಾಗರೀಕರಿಗೆ ಮುಖ ಪರಿಚಯವಾದದ್ದು ಸ೦ತಸವಾಯಿತು.

ಹಸ್ತ ಲಾಘವ, ಗುರುತು ಪರಿಚಯ ಸಮಾವೇಶದುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೊ೦ದಾಯಿಸಿದ ಕೆಲವು ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಚೀಟಿ ಮುಖಾ೦ತರ ಎತ್ತಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಹೆಸರು ಹಾಗೂ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಪರಿಚಯ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತಿತ್ತು. ಸಮಯದ ಅಭಾವ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಡಕಾಯಿತೆನ್ನುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಮಾತಿಲ್ಲ.

ಮು೦ದಿನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ: ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಇದು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬ್ಲಾಗಿಗಳ ಸಮಾವೇಶ. ಈ ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಮು೦ದಿನ ಹಲವಾರು ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಮಾವೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾ೦ದಿಯಾಗಲಿ. ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸತನ ಮೂಡಿ ಮು೦ದಿನ ದಿನಗಳ 'ಕನ್ನಡ ಅ೦ತರ್ಜಾಲ ಕ್ರಾ೦ತಿ' ಗೆ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಲಿ.

Maiden Hundred!

I am happy to inform to all the readers of "Ee Prapancha" that this is the 100th post being published in this blog. Multiples of 5 and 10 have always allured people, nations,magazines,news papers to celebrate for whatever reason! Blog is no exception to this fact. Thats enough of jargon, let us come to terms how it went about, these 100 small steps. Last 4 months have been eventful. In the last 4 months there were 35 posts written with January and February 2008 producing 22 posts!

Story So far : Here are some of the statistics of this blog from July 2007. Off late, visits have been mainly due to Gaalipata, Kannada film review! Gaalipata has been the most hyped film in Kannada film industry this year.Interestingly keyword "Mugilupete" has attracted most number of visitors seeking info about the place, but "Mugilupete" is Yogaraj Bhat's imaginary village covered with clouds in the film Gaalipata.

Second in the list, Mungaaru Male Impact on Gaalipata, analyzed the influence of a successful film, Mungaaru Male on other films in general and Gaalipata in particular. This was the post which I liked most! and this found takers everywhere with contents of this post being posted in forums and in other blogs with no credit given to the original author! One of the incidents explained is this post.

Surprising entries in the list are the two posts about FM Radios. This, I think reflects the mood of the metros/towns to switch to Radio mood on the move. People are eager to find the reviews of radio stations too in the web!

'Tulu cinema at 35' article was posted way back in August 2006. This too found the place in netizens searches for the cinema of coastal Karnataka. Good to know that people not forgetting their roots in a highly globalized society!

Whats In Store? : 100 posts journey has been wonderful. Thanks to all the readers who have been visiting, putting comments for the posts. In the coming 100 posts, expect the regular posts on Cricket, Gandhinagar, Media, Kannada, Film Reviews, Travel and some creative stuff too. Definitely, the frequecy of posts have increased from 4-5 posts a months on an average to 10-12 posts per month. This will continue... and I am expecting the support of all the patrons as always :)

Type your posts in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam in Blogger now

Blogger has incorporated typing new posts in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam using transliteration, a facility which till now was only available to Hindi as far as Indian languages are considered. So now you don’t have to type your regional language posts using some third party applications like Baraha, Quillpad and then paste the content in Blogger post. You can now directly type in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam in Blogger keeping the transliteration button on and selecting the required language. Advantage here is that you can correct the typing mistakes, the moment English letters are changed to Indian language letters.One more change which would be of interest to all the bloggers (for providing backtrack links to their blogs) is while providing comments to any Blogger post, you now have the option of choosing your identity from LiveJournal, WordPress, TypePad and AIM. Updates : How to disable transliteration in blogger?

If you are not using tranliteration you can disable it using global settings. For this, go to Settings section in your blogger dashboard. Then in the lower half of this page you will find Global Settings. You can enable/disable transliteration facility as shown in the figure below.

Ee Prapancha on thatskannada.com

When Sandeep called me this Tuesday night I was in for a pleasant surprise. He was about to tell that my and his reviews of the film Gaalipata has been mentioned in thatskannada.com, one of the premier news websites in Kannada. Hurray! I was thrilled. Hurried to my laptop to check the article on the net. For those of you who are not familiar with thatskannada.com, it is one of the premier websites in Kannada featuring articles from top Kannada writers like Ravi Belagere, Pratap Simha, Vishweshwara Bhat and others and also covers a wide range of topics like news, cinema, literature, travel, cartoons, jokes etc.

My review on Gaalipata had found its place in an article posted by S K Shama Sundara in his regular column 'Kendasampige : From the Editor's Desk' under the title Blogmandaladalli Gaalipata Chitravimarshe (Gaalipata reviews on blog posts). In the article, author goes on explaining how Kannada film industry is changing for good with Kannadigas sharing a forum in the web, discussing the latest releases and stuff, saying Udaaseenakkintha teekegale melu(It is better to be criticized than to be ignored) and adds off late how Kannada film songs have become popular and how people have started discussing Kannada movies seriously. In the end, along with Ee Prapancha the author has listed down 8 blog reviews(with excerpts from the same) on the latest sensation in the town, Gaalipata. Mungaaru Male explored new markets for Kannada films with film being released in London (UK), Pune (Maharashtra), Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Kuppam (Andhra Pradesh). Inter estingly, after 9 years a Kannada film was screened in Open Air Theatre in IIT Madras, Chennai and it was none other than Mungaaru Male! But this was after the film became huge hit in Karnataka. Here the impact Mungaaru Male made is remarkable. Gaalipata is being released on the first day in all South Indian metros on 18th January 2007 itself! Here is the list of theatres in Mumbai/Bombay, Hyderabad and Chennai where Gaalipata is being released. Mumbai/Bombay - Liberty (4 Shows)- Arora (4 Shows)- PVR Cinemas (4 Shows)Chennai - Casino (4 Shows) Hyderabad - Prasad Imax(4 Shows)

Can we call it a coincidence ? Or It was copied knowingly, then I should have been given credit.

1st Anniversary of "Ee Prapancha"

“Ee Prapancha” turns one year old today. The first post on this blog was published on June 22, 2006.In the one year passed, there had been posts on topics related to Cricket, Bollywood, Kannada, Karnataka, Mangalore, Bangalore etc. A total of 36 posts have been published so far. There had been some time when there was not much activity in this blog. But the blog is in full swing yet again with new posts. In the coming days hope to provide you with more posts in the above topics and other new topics as well.

Blogging - New Age Journalism

Though started in 1994, blogs became popular in the new millenium .i.e in the 2000s atleast in India. Now bloggers are enjoying the status being the new age journalists. According to blogherald.com, there were 70 million blogs in July 2006 with Indian blogs being approximately 100,000. And this number continues to grow.

From being personal diaries to professional write-ups, blogs have come a long way. Google has seperate search page dedicated for blog search http://blogsearch.google.com/. You have blogs of almost every type - diaries, professional articles, sports, technical articles and reviews, film reviews, product reviews.

Unlike traditional journalism, here you have no restrictions in publishing your views (unless you are posting on some news paper's or news channel's site) giving you more liberty and power. But as they say, with great power comes great responsibilities. So you are your own judge when publishing your posts on the net.

Fed up with the reading of film reviews with all their jargon by critics in news papers every weekend then you have now one new avenue to ponder upon. Film reviews in blogs. One of my friends Sandeep has a blog mostly dedicated to film reviews. I did write a film review on Lage Raho Munna Bhai few weeks back. And there are bloggers whose blogs are dedicated only to film reviews. Cricket is one obsession with us Indians. So there are blogs dedicated only to cricket articles. Some of my earlier articles on cricket include Historic Win of India in West Indies, Cricket in the time of Football, Talking Cricket. Not only text, but also you will find pictures and videos embedded in the blog. Some of the blogs are dedicated only to picture/photos or videos.

Technical reviews are a biggest plus came out of blogging. Amit Agarwal's blog is sure a techie's delight as he carries you through the exciting world of Technology with his tips and reviews on latest technology and products.

Compared to traditional journalism I think, here you will find less dedicated readers. And you have to retain your regular readers and if you are a blogger and not updating the blog regularly then you are likely to lose your dedicated readers.

Big names in the media like NDTV, CNN-IBN are providing the netizens with the chance of posting their write-ups on their websites by providing the blog service, shows the importance of blogs in this era. Recently CNN-IBN's Citizen Journalist initiative was well appreciated and it made the channel/ibnlive.com site popular among net users.

Though live news (as in news paper, news channel web sites) is still not in the domain of the bloggers it is catching up slowly. And that by itself does not constitute journalism. Other areas like public opinion, reviews, articles, debates(as it happens through the exchange of comments between the author and readers of the blog) have been strong hold of the bloggers. Blogging community continues to grow and it will shape the things in the future is no understatement.

Fine,

Finally landed up starting a blog. Seems that I am little too late for joining the blogging community. But better late than never. Ok, I have named my blog "Ee Prapancha", stands for two things.

1. "Ee Prapancha", in Kannada means 'This World'
2. Also Ee here, stands for electronic, so 'Electronic World'

Nowadays, having a blog is like having a e-mail id. Everyone has one. Publishing a material on the web has now become much simpler. More often than not, it finds the desired bunch of readers too. Hope to provide you all with more articles in the coming days.
